It's a Small World

It’s a Small World
I was watching the television news yesterday while I was waiting for Doug to get home. It was a slow news day because the station was covering a report of a brown bear invading a neighborhood with a live reporter and one of their helicopters.

That seemed like overkill to me.

Bears and other wild animals will come down from the local mountains in search of food and water. It happens all of the time. A couple of years ago there was an old bear that liked to soak in a hot tub. I guess the hot water was good therapy for the old bones. Eventually, the bear was caught and shipped off to a nice zoo to live out its remaining years in comfort.

Anyway and back to why it is a small world.

Sharon Tay was the field reporter on the bear in the backyard story yesterday.

The long time readers of the blog will remember Sharon Tay as being one of the first Women of the Moment, probably in 2005. I first saw her in probably 1993 or 1994 when she was a reporter for a local, non-network station in Los Angeles. Sharon did well at the station and worked her way up to co-hosting an early morning news program.

Sharon left Los Angeles in 2005 to host a weekend entertainment program on CNBC. She had been very successful with celebrities in Los Angeles so I guess CNBC figured she could do that in New York City. Naturally, CNBC had to add a blond bimbo to the hosting crew and that destroyed a lot of the interest in the program. The program eventually was cancelled in early 2006.

Then, Sharon disappeared until yesterday. I am guessing that she is a free lance reporter without a network contract at the station. I think she will move up quickly because she has a fan base here.

Being the nice guy that I am, I decided to go back into the archives and find some of my favorite photos of Sharon Tay for you.

Market
I went to the market today. I was running low on food plus I needed to get something for our dinner tonight. I decided to try a different market for some reason.

I like the new market. It has wider aisles. It is much larger and newer so it doesn’t have that worn out look my old market has. The selections are wider. Of course, I still have to learn my way around the new store. I am rather used to the old market. I am certain that I can get used to the new market.

Some things never change though. I ended up in the wrong line behind a woman who was having trouble with an expired ATM card.

Haircut
I got my haircut yesterday. It was getting really ratty looking; I had curls rolling up on the side of my head. My hair turned out rather well considering the woman who cut my hair did it for the first time. It was close to what I wanted so that was nice for me. I do want to look nice for the traditional Chuckay Dinner on Sunday.

Unless the New Stylist comes back into the picture [she went to Arizona], I will probably go back to this place for my next haircut.

Woman of the Moment
All of the photos for the blog came from a variety of Internet sites that you can find through Google Images. I don’t think there will be any theme series of images with Carmen Electra because I didn’t find any that seemed to come together except for only three images.

Be well and stay happy.
