Arnie Morton 1922 - 2005
Arnie Morton passed away this week in Chicago at the age of 83. The Big Guy and I will always remember him as the founder of Morton's the Steakhouse, our favorite all-time place to go for food. He created a feeling that everyone was an honored guest and important.
Morton was a consummate restauranteur. In addition to the steakhouse chain that bears his name, he also worked with a local fellow, Hugh Heffner, to help develop what became the Playboy Clubs.
What a perfect combination, great food and beautiful women. It doesn't get much better than that.
When the Big Guy and I went to Morton's for the first for his 13th birthday, the Big Guy said this was the best meal ever because he was not treated like a little kid. We have made a trip to Morton's a regular part of our birthday celebrations ever since. We will continue to do so for the foreseeable future; we may end up leaving our significant others behind if they do not have a taste for beef.
Be well and stay happy.
