The 600
The 600
Yesterday was the 600th posting for Balancing Checkbooks.
When I first started out, I had no idea what I would say or if anyone would find what I say worthwhile reading. I didn’t know if I would have any visitors to the blog. It was all one big surprising adventure.
Overall, I feel the blog has improved over time. I have more structure to the blog and I post on a more or less predictable schedule. I do have features, like the Weekend Bonus Feature, that provide reading or viewing when there isn’t a regular text based posting from me.
Visitors
The blog is also closing in on the 6,000th viewer. I had hoped that we would reach the 6,000 reader level this month. My writing has fallen off just a bit lately and now I don’t think the blog will its 6,000th visitor until sometime in July.
Right now, the blog stands at the 5,673 visitor mark.
Early July is fine with me to reach the 6,000 mark.
Teaching
I was back in the classroom last night. It was a long night for me. I left school around 10:20 and got home by about 11:00 PM.
Morning came very early for me today. I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was tired from being up so late or later than usual for me. But, I made it up and finished off the sudoku puzzle today.
My Monday class is Accounting II, not my favorite subject. It is a small class with only s seven students; six of the students were in my Saturday afternoon Accounting I class last term. The new school director wanted to come by and visit all of the classrooms on the first day of school. Naturally, my class made a poor impression with only four of the seven students being present.
Tonight, I am teaching a class on the Introduction to Project Management. I am scheduled to have fourteen students in the class, according to a class roster that I picked up yesterday. The class size is down from an original seventeen students. I have three students that are in my class that I have had in previous courses including two from Monday night.
Tonight’s class gets out earlier at 9:20 PM so I will have a good night’s sleep. I will be able to wake up and get to class on time on Wednesday morning for my Business Law and Regulation course.
Programming Note
I don’t think I will be posting a blog entry on Wednesday since I have a morning class and then an evening class. It does not make sense for me to come between classes, especially with the current price of gasoline.
Doug
Doug called me yesterday to ask some questions about job searching.
We talked about job searching and I offered a couple of suggestions. Since I was going to be behind the Orange Curtain on Friday morning, I asked him if he wanted to have lunch. I also wanted to drop off some stuff that he left at my place after the internship. Doug thought that he could have lunch since he was going to be at home on Friday morning.
Doug has to come with the venue for lunch. That should be easy for him.
Eiko Koike
I got my copy of the DANGER AFTER COLLECTION yesterday. I bought the three DVD set because it features a film that stars Eiko Koike, 2LDK. 2LDK is a film about two roommates who fight over the same role in a film and then over the same boy friend. The fight escalates to power tools and other forms of mayhem.
What’s not to like about girls fighting with power tools?
The other two films are MOON CHILD, a Japanese vampire film, and SUICIDE CLUB. I think SUICIDE CLUB is a horror film.
Doug may like one or all of the films.
I plan to watch 2LDK on Thursday because I have no class and then I will catch the other films over the weekend.
Woman of the Moment
This is a nice switch from one of my favorite Japanese actresses to Bipasha Basu, an Indian actress.
Be well and stay happy.
