Beach Day

Beach Day
I should have stayed home from work and called in sick gentle readers. It was one of those typical Southern California end of Summer beach weather days that just screamed to be spent watching waves crash on the sandy shore.

It was completely clear at the beach. I would have been able to see the smoke clouds from a brush fire 60 miles – 95 kilometers away being blown out over the ocean from any spot on the sand.

The air temperature was probably 80F – 27C with a steady, light breeze blowing off of the ocean all day long.

The ocean was probably around 68F – 20C; a little on the cool side but still very refreshing after you have been baking yourself in the sun.

Now I ask, is that a day to be spent at the beach or not?

Yes, even adults think about cutting school or work when the weather is great, just like students.

Days
It was Day 52 and nothing happened. I bet you weren’t surprised by that at all. Sooner or later, something will have to be done with the building next door. It can not stand for long as a wreck in Beverly Hills.

The Big Guy and Cameras
I had a call from the Big Guy this afternoon as he was walking to his class from the distant parking lot. He told me that the photos he took for part of his Production class did not come out because they were underexposed. The flash did not work so that meant part of the assignment was in question.

The Big Guy said he sent an email to his professor asking for a one day extension on the assignment so he can reshoot the photos. He had not heard from the professor yet but he was not very optimistic that he would hear from him in a timely manner.

I guess this means that he should not plan on or consider a film career as a cinematographer unless he has a brilliant assistant who can load and focus the camera for him. The Big Guy said he would concentrate on his writing and directing work since those do not involve film.

I should point out that he can handle video easily and successfully. It is the celluloid stuff that gives him trouble.

That was a short and simple day for me.

Be well and stay happy.
